Fun Sale before the Summer

Since I'll be leaving for summer vacation from the middle of July, I thought I'd have a fun sale in the shop and make some nice stamps before the summer.

This is perfect if you want a nice personal stationary item for yourself (the smallest stamp costs $10 including international shipping), a birthday or wedding gift for a friend - the possibilities are endless since you get to choose what the stamp says!

This is how it works

: go to

my shop

and look around at the stamps - this applies to any existing design in the shop and I have A LOT of them - pick the one you like, and check out. You'll see an

"additional comment" box

- that's where you can leave a name/sentence/phrase,

anything less than 10 letters is free :)

If your text is longer than 10 letters, I'll charge $10 every 10 letters (starting at $10, and jumping at $10 marks, e.g. 23 letter -> 13 extra letters -> $20 extra).

I'll pick a font that looks nice with the design, but if you have any stylistic preference you can mention that in the comment too.

an example

: my friend's son really likes Batman and his name is Björn, so I go ahead and order the

Batman Cutie stamp

for him, leaving his name and an exclamation mark - "Björn!" - in the additional comment box at checkout, also saying "a comics-style font". Done!

My current turnaround is about

12 days

; shipping takes around a week to non-European countries and about 3 days to Europe. If you have any other questions, you can reach me at

tyr [at]

 or find me on

my Facebook page

I also have a couple of

new prints

in the shop; they are not on sale but they are quite nice to look at.

New studio, yay!

I moved to a new studio!

It's in the center the island Lidingö, a modest 11 square meters. I have moved in my smaller computer desk and the bigger one (on the left)  for when I sketch, carve or print. I built some simple wall-hanging shelves on the right. Apart from the two windows you see, there's a large glass wall facing the outside - that's where our fika area and kitchen is.

Needless to say, I'm feeling peachy! This following week will be very busy with loads of Christmas orders, but after that I should have sometime to make a few prints.

Anyway, I'm posting pictures of my recent custom hand-carved rubber stamps - I shipped this many last week - and you know where the shop is if you'd like to order one :)

The first is Ann's stamp. She's the awesome snake/reptile rescue lady from Australia. Ann won my last portrait stamp giveaway and this is the prize - her personalized portrait stamp.

Ann's stamp actually took two attempts. I wasn't happy with the first version's python so I had to make a second one. It turned out great though!

Then there are two very small stamps: a 1 cm mouse and a 3 cm pelican.

Another two portrait stamps of two very different ladies -

A custom text stamp for wedding invitations -

And a custom logo rubber stamp for Karyn. She's based in Mjölby, Sweden and makes goat milk soap!

As usual, you can find out about giveaways and Christmas offers on my Facebook page :) Have a good day!

Both Blocks Completed

I was at Hem och Villa (House & Villa) convention last month where I completed the first block of my new print, nicknamed Pee & Flee - thanks to Laura on Facebook who came up with it.

I was busy making stamps last month so it was only yesterday that I completed the second block. It will be printed in a lighter color as the background.

This is my first two-layer print, although I've made rubber stamps like this before. I ordered some inks from IB Wahlstöm start printing this weekend.

Haven't decided which colors to use, but I'll try mixing things up a bit. Note to self - keep a color reference book!

For the next print, I'm still struggling between two projects - a very simplistic line-drawing, two layers with two different colors, AND a more ambitions, A4-sized reduction print.

Portrait stamp giveaway is still on-going on Facebook! Don't miss it :)

4 Weeks, 4 Giveaways

I promised you a new giveaway on Facebook a while ago, but decided to... have four instead!

There will be one giveaway every week leading to Christmas - they will happen on Facebook and perhaps Instagram, starting every Wednesday and ending the next Tuesday. I will be posting the details of each of them here on the blog.

I will be giving away the following items - open to everyone and world shipping (regular airmail) is included.

  • A 2" stamp of your choice. I'm considering having this challenge solely on Instagram, but I haven't decided how it works yet.
  • A $50 gift card for you to use in the shop or give as a present.
  • A new two-block print ($80) - you can see the first block here; I've already completed the second block - a lighter-color background layer so the print will be completed very soon. In case the prints are sold out, I will give away a $80 gift card instead.
That's about it! What do you think? I would love to hear about your suggestions/questions. Now I will be making some new cover images for Facebook and the shop; the newsletter will be sent out today about the giveaway, so the four weeks of giveaway officially commences!
